CLASS GROUPS

The children are grouped into classes according to the Louisiana's Birth to Five Early Learning & Development Standards.  We offer classes at this time from 6 weeks of age to 48 months (4 years old).   Because children develop at different rates we overlap some of our classes under 2 years of age. 


Children will move from the Nursery to the Infant and Young Toddler Transition areas  only when we see a child is displaying skills and abilities fitting for the next class. 


Children will be moved to the Toddler and Preschool classrooms according to their age on September 30th.  Children will move to their appropriate class on September 1st of each year.

Learning through the Five Senses

Babies learn through play using their 5 senses.  Through their eyes, ears, nose and mouth.  It's no wonder your little one is constantly putting things in her mouth and grabbing everything within reach.  This is how our babies learn.

YOUNG TODDLER

Building Skills through Play, Curiosity and Exploration

At this age your little one will experience many new feelings as well as abilities to use their little bodies to do lots of things.  Young toddler's begin to experience new emotions such as anger and excitement.  The young toddler will also explore their own independence.


Our Young Toddler classroom focuses on developing your children’s new  physical, social and communications skills and nurturing curiosity through exploration and play both indoors and outdoors.

TODDLER

Imagination and Understanding

18-34 months old toddlers are going through many exciting changes now.  Not only are they likely walking (or running) they are also able to communicate using verbal, emotional and physical signs.  Now is the time at Les Petits Amis Child Care that we give your children the opportunity to take part in song and dance, reading activities, sensory activities and parallel play.


Les Petits Amis Child Care will always incorporate these activities with outdoor and indoor routines and activities.  We strongly believe that children can thrive best in outdoor settings.

PRESCHOOL

Expanding the Imagination through Wonder and Exploration

Our 3 year old preschool program uses intentional learning to prepare your children for Pre-K.  They are transitioning from parallel play to interactive play, and their language capacity is blossoming. They are becoming more mobile and learning to show genuine affection and concern for their peers.


Our curriculum for 3-year-olds allows children ages 36-48 months to continue on the path to kindergarten readiness.
